We’re proud to introduce Thomas Kurz, the Head Kid’s Instructor and Operator of Bonobo Jiu Jitsu Academy! A purple belt with over five years of experience as a lead kids’ BJJ instructor, Tom brings both passion and expertise to the mats. With more than seven years as an educator in the Florida school system, Coach Tom has a deep understanding of how to connect with and inspire young students. For him, Jiu-Jitsu isn’t just a sport—it’s a way of life. His dedication, energy, and love for the art shine through in everything he teaches, both on and off the mats. Get ready to train with a coach who truly leads by example!

Head Instructor

Wyatt Weatherford, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt from Fort Myers, Florida, has been a dedicated practitioner and competitor in the sport. He earned his black belt in April 2021 and has extensive experience competing in IBJJF tournaments, showcasing his skill and dedication at the highest levels. We are thrilled to announce that Wyatt will be joining Bonobo Jiu-Jitsu Academy as our Head Adult Instructor. A proud resident of Babcock Ranch, Wyatt lives here with his family, and his two sons also train in Jiu-Jitsu. With his years of experience, technical expertise, and passion for teaching, he will be an incredible leader on the mats, helping our students grow and excel in their Jiu-Jitsu journey.

A blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Bethany is deeply passionate about growing and supporting the women’s Jiu-Jitsu community.

As one of the original residents of Babcock Ranch, she is dedicated to bringing high-quality Jiu-Jitsu training to the community. Her vision for Bonobo Jiu Jitsu Academy is to create a welcoming space where students of all ages and skill levels can train, grow, and build confidence—both on and off the mats. Bethany’s commitment to Jiu-Jitsu goes beyond technique; she believes in its power to transform lives and build strong, supportive communities. Whether students come for self-defense, fitness, or competition, she is excited to offer a place where everyone can thrive.

Meet Coach Peyton!

At only 13 years old, Coach Peyton brings over 5 years of experience and an impressive grey-black belt to our team as the assistant kids’ instructor. Her passion for coaching and natural leadership shines both on and off the mats, inspiring young practitioners to build confidence, discipline, and teamwork. Get ready to be motivated by her energy and dedication as she guides the next generation of martial artists!

We are excited to introduce Luke Davis as the newest assistant coach at Bonobo Jiu-Jitsu Academy! With nine years of grappling experience and three years dedicated to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Luke brings a wealth of knowledge, skill, and passion to our team.

Luke thrives on teaching, seeing it as an opportunity to pass down a craft, sharpen techniques, and inspire the next generation of athletes. His dedication to the sport is unmatched, and with a goal of competing professionally, he is constantly pushing himself and those around him to new levels.
